Olympic National Park

May 08, 2015

One of my favorite places is Olympic National Park. It's got a little bit of everything- The wild coastline, rainforests, and mountains. We spent this trip primarily on the beach.

The majority of the time we had on the beaches fell during low tide. Which was great for exploring tide pools and finding this cool guy.

So we came back to Ruby beach for sunset and was not disappointed. There was a little creek emptying out into this pond before completing its journey to the ocean, and made for some great reflections with the sea stacks.

The window in this rock was awesome with a beam of light from the setting sun coming through

On the way back to camp, stopped for the last minutes of daylight on Ruby Beach.

This sea stack was right in front of our camping spot on our night of backpacking on the coast. While we were there it was always low tide, so got this shot. I do think they are more dramatic when the tide is high and they are coming up out of the water.

Hoh Rainforest
The Hoh rainforest is one of the wettest spots in the US, and with that comes very large trees and lots of green.
